Sometimes it takes a little coaxing to get friends and families to venture out into the Michigan cold, but when your reward for braving the elements is getting together in the warm atmosphere of our locally owned and operated Kalkaska restaurant, you just might want to make it a more regular event!
We’re open daily so it’s easy to coordinate a get-together with others whenever it works for busy schedules.
Pick your time, perhaps a scrumptious breakfast at our Kalkaska restaurant for early birds, or a leisurely brunch for late risers before you head out as a group to enjoy some outdoor winter sports or a local Christmas event. Meeting up with friends and family is the antidote to long winters that can make us all feel isolated; and it’s the best way to warm up after skating, skiing, snowmobiling, or hiking.
Need help making plans? Check out the Kalkaska County Events and Information Facebook page for the latest information on what’s going on in our vibrant Michigan community. If you love animals, you’ll want to either sponsor or join the Jingle Bell Rocking Run for the Kalkaska Animal Shelter at the Kalkaska Kaliseum on December 23 at 6 p.m. Bring a donation for the shelter and enjoy this fun walk or run. You can do as much as 5K or as little as one lap to help our furry friends in need.
Naturally we’re ready to welcome you with our inspired Trout Town Tavern & Eatery lunch and dinner menu before or after your adventures – or for an evening out! Our Kalkaska Restaurant is a great place to rendezvous as we’ve got something for everyone from sandwiches, wraps, and homemade soups to garden greens or mouth-watering entrees like our Bourbon Steak Medallions or Jumbo Lake Perch Fillets. And don’t forget our weekly special Friday Fish Feast or Saturday night steak and chop night.
No matter when you decide to join us at our Kalkaska restaurant, you’ll find the Trout Town Tavern & Eatery an easy, low-stress way to have fun during the frosty winter months. No cooking, no cleaning – just a fun break to socialize and relax! Drop by the Trout Town Tavern & Eatery for hometown service and delicious home-style cooking. You’ll find our Kalkaska restaurant at the corner of 66th & Elm Street downtown, full of friendly faces and great food.
